Midlands Talent Management Community of Practice
“Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” Etienne Wenger
Our aspiration for the Midlands Community of Practice is to create a true community of talent practitioners who have strong relationships, shared ideas and collaborative working. This is a community for you and with you involved. Within the community we aim to create a blueprint for great talent practice within the Midlands region and we need your voice, input and collaboration to make this a true inclusive process for all of our Midlands organisations.
What is it about?
Following the success and fabulous connection and conversation during the October Community of Practice, we are planning to continue the exploration and dialogue in May. This session is designed in the true spirit of Community of Practice, giving you, our talent leads, the opportunity to connect and explore in a safe community.
Based on your feedback and requests – this session will explore what is happening in talent management in our organisations and systems and our experiences to date – What is working? What isn’t? And how our practice may need to adapt to ensure it is current and appropriate for the new systems that are emerging. We are inviting Talent Leads to share their practice and receive support and input from colleagues.
We will also have a continuing theme of inclusivity and talent management in this session starting with a focus on bias. How do we ensure that our own bias is managed as we create processes, programmes and opportunities for all?
In the true spirit of this community and collaboration, please include other Talent management specialists in the community. This is a great time to be involved as we build our work together and take time and space away from the day job to think bigger and practically about talent.
As we are building relationships, please come prepared to connect, to talk and to share.
