SUMMARY:Leading Transformation for Integrated Care - Who leads in a system?
DESCRIPTION:Leading Transformation for Integrated Care \nColleagues working in health\, social care and the voluntary\, community and social enterprise sector are welcome to join us for our new series of 90-minute\, virtual sessions.  We have different topics for you to choose from which have been co-designed with the seven Regional Hubs of the NHS Leadership Academy and will be hosted by our delivery partner\, Tricordant. \nSo what is this series about?  Based on insights and experience drawn from work with a number of Integrated Care Systems across England these sessions will explore what partnership working looks like across teams and organisations. \nWhat does this mean for leaders?  It is co-designed with input from local representatives to understand their current challenges and opportunities. The aim is to enhance participants’ capability to think and act as leaders within systems. \nThis series is for anyone involved in change and transformation\, delivery of new integrated care services\, organisation development and partnership development working in health and social care systems across England. \nGeneral learning outcomes for the programme: \n\nUnderstand and explore a ‘Leading Transformation’ topic\nFeel confident to apply some practical tools\nLearn\, share and grow with colleagues in similar situations\n\n\nWho leads in a system? \n\nThis topic will explore who leads in a systems context and how to lead across boundaries.  Participants will gain a better understanding of: \n\nHow leading in a system is different to leading in a single organisation\nTypes of leaders in a systems context\nWhat knowledge\, skills and behaviours are important for those leading in systems context\n\nWho is this session for:  \nThe NHS Leadership Academy provides leadership development for people of all backgrounds and experiences across health and care.  \nOther information: \nPlease note that the East of England Regional Hub is co-ordinating all bookings on behalf of the seven regional hubs and you may be redirected to book at our web site.  Confirmation emails and links to all sessions will be issued by the East of England Leadership Academy. \nThe session will be delivered virtually \nBook here: \nThursday 24th November \n

DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\nA two-hour online collective inquiry into our experience of power in the workplace – and of the ways in which we might ethically improve our organisational presence and practice in this respect. \nWhat to expect in this session:\nIn the course of this interactive event\, participants will be invited to: \n\nReflect on their personal understanding of power\nExplore power in the context of their workplace – both their own power and that of others\nExpand their understanding of power in an organisational context in order to develop a more nuanced view of it and the way in which it presents itself\n\nBy the end of the session\, the inquiry will have provided attenders with the opportunity to: \n\nAcknowledge the way in which power inhabits organisational settings\, notwithstanding corporate efforts to “disappear” it\nAppreciate how they personally experience power – and the ways in which their power might be being experienced\nCommit to rethinking their presence and practice in the workplace in a way that is positively mindful of the web of power in which we find ourselves enmeshed\n\nWhat to expect Who is this session for?\nThe NHS Leadership Academy provides leadership development for people of all backgrounds and experiences across health and care. \nBook your Place via this link\n\nThursday 24th November – 11:00 – 13:00\n\nSouth East Leadership Academy will retain a record of your name\, job role\, organisation\, band\, and contact details on its secure alumni register and contacts database for management information and communications purposes. He has worked in and around health care for 35 years\, beginning as an Operating Department Orderly in 1981. In 2012\, he completed his Doctorate in Education at the University of Greenwich\, with a thesis that explored reflective practice and healthcare professionals through the lens of power. His first book appeared under the title Radical Organisation Development (Routledge\, 2020); more recently\, he co-wrote with John Higgins a book called Leadership Unravelled: The faulty thinking behind modern management (Routledge\, 2022). Their new title on voice\, silence and power in organisational life is due to be published early in 2023.
