SUMMARY:PCN Clinical Director Professional Leadership Coaching Programme Cohort 3 (22/23)
DESCRIPTION:This programme is being delivered in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ambitions of the recently published NHS People Plan. With a growing population and people living longer\, often with long-term conditions\, and health inequalities\, the demand on local health services is ever-increasing. To meet this increased demand\, Primary Care Networks [PCNs] are to become the building blocks to every Integrated Care System [ICS]\, allowing community\, mental health\, social care\, hospital and voluntary services to work together to enable greater personalised\, compassionate\, inclusive\, coordinated and integrated health and social care. This system will require a different way of working\, different relationships and new roles for general practice and primary care. \nThe Opportunity \nNHSE/I Midlands Leadership & Lifelong Learning Team is providing a fully funded programme of 1 x 90-minute professional leadership coaching session\, followed by 2 x 60 minute follow up sessions\, to support Clinical Directors [CDs] of PCNs working in the Midlands. The coaching is provided by Beyond Coaching and their Leadership Coaches. \nCoaching offers a confidential and supportive environment for Clinical Directors to: \n-Consider their own leadership style and challenges \n-Focus on their Clinical Director leadership role \n-Understand and lead change \n-Explore collaboration and system working \n-Clarify what it will mean to be successful and support the integration of the health and care system. \n-Have the headspace to work through challenges and opportunities related to your leadership role. \n-Reflect on and develop the collaborative\, compassionate and inclusive leadership skills that are key to success. \n-Increase personal insight\, enabling you to build your confidence\, build on your talents and play to your strengths. \n-Increase understanding of personal resilience and how to deepen it. \nCoaching is particularly relevant when individuals are faced with change\, challenges\, opportunities or options. It is relevant for those who want to review where they are now\, consider how they would like things to be different and plan next steps.  Coaching is about developing and utilising personal insight\, taking action and looks to the future; it will help you to identify what is important that would extend satisfaction and fulfilment and how you will achieve it.  During coaching\, you will have a chance to appreciate the skills and experience that you have accumulated\, deepen your existing competencies\, and identify and clarify opportunities for change to be even better as a leader. \nCoaching will be provided by a highly qualified\, and experienced professional Leadership Coaches. \nAbout Coaching                                               \nCoaching is a confidential 1-to-1 relationship with a professional coach who works with you to clarify your goals and help you to determine how to best achieve them. It sounds simple and indeed it is\, however\, in this increasingly busy world\, very few people\, particularly in primary care\, have time to stop for long enough to reflect\, gain clarity\, and achieve their purpose. Coaching is about many things\, however\, principally it is about behavioural change that benefits the individual\, at work and at home\, and in the results that they achieve. \nCoaching will support you to: \n-Identify clear goals and objectives you want to achieve \n-Understand yourself at a much deeper level and use this to influence your own behaviour and communication towards others in order to achieve better outcomes \n-Increase your resilience and motivation \n-Reduce stress in order to achieve your goals more quickly \nCoaching is not therapy or counselling. Coaching is almost entirely a forward-looking process that helps you get from where you are now to where you want to be\, and to do so faster than if you were working on your own. \nEligibility Criteria for this Coaching Support \nFunding is being provided by NHSE/I Midlands Leadership & Lifelong Learning Team. To be eligible for this programme\, you must be: \n-A Clinical Director of a Primary Care Network (PCN) in the Midlands \n-Able and willing to commit to 1 x 90-minute professional leadership coaching session\, followed by 2 x 60 minute follow up sessions between the end of October 2022 and the end by February 2023. \n-And crucially: Want something to be different for yourself (even if you are not sure what that is). \nDates & Times: \nYou will need to commit to 1 x 90-minute professional leadership coaching session\, followed by 2 x 60 minute follow up sessions between the end of October 2022 and the end by February 2023. \nIf you are allocated a place on this coaching programme\, coaching session dates will be agreed personally between you and your allocated coach. \nOn behalf of NHSE/I Midlands Leadership & Lifelong Learning Team and Beyond Coaching\, we look forward to receiving your Expression of Interest. \nIs there a cost to participants?  \nNo\, the programme is fully funded by Midlands Leadership and Lifelong Learning\, NHS England \nSpecial Requirements:  \nIf you have any special requirements with regards to accessibility either before\, during or after the event\, then please don’t hesitate to contact us at midlands@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk. \nConfidentiality & GDPR \nData contained in the Expression of Interest form will be treated as confidential. SUMMARY:The Art of Being Brilliant
DESCRIPTION:About the session:  \nYou 2.0  \nWhen the world’s doing its worst it’s doubly important that you know how to be at your best! THE ART OF BEING BRILLIANT helps you shine by reconnecting you with you.  \nIt acts as the cornerstone of any personal or organisational change programme. We use cutting edge research but have surgically removed the big words and replaced them with simple\, do-able principles that are applicable at work and home. We like to think of it as a personal upgrade that allows you to thrive no matter what the world throws at you.  \nTHE ART OF BEING BRILLIANT is your competitive advantage. In plain simple English\, we want this to be the best training you have ever had. Whisper it quietly\, but it might even change your life?  \nWhy this programme   \nOur programmes are based on the research findings of Dr Andy Cope. Andy flipped psychology and instead of looking at illness\, he looked at wellness. His Loughborough PhD (the first in the UK) was about employee engagement\, with a specific focus on elevated states of wellbeing. Andy examined those at the top of the wellbeing spectrum (at Art of Brilliance\, we call them the ‘2-percenters’\, the small group of staff who are flourishing) and sought to answer 3 questions:  \n\nWho are the 2-percenters? \nWhat are they doing that allows them to flourish? \n\n\nWhat can we learn from them that we might apply to the wider staffing population\, so they might flourish too? \n\nOur programmes take in the wider areas of Positive Psychology (purpose\, strengths\, resilience\, self-care\, etc)\, but Andy’s original research provides the DNA of our portfolio. This gives our programmes a strong academic grounding\, but our ‘uniqueness’ actually comes from bringing the messages to life through humour\, story-telling and common-sense principles.  \nWho is this session for:  \nThe NHS Leadership Academy provides leadership development for people of all backgrounds and experiences across health and care.  \nOther information:  \nIf you are unable to attend any of the sessions above please register via our Expression of Interest page\, this will help us to understand the demand for our programmes and plan accordingly. You will also be notified when we release new dates for this workshop.  \nIf your circumstances change and you can no longer attend\, please email midlands.leadershipacademy.nhs.uk  \nThe session will be delivered virtually  \n  \nAbout the facilitator: \nThis webinar will be facilitated by Jonathan Peach.  \nAbout Jonathan: Jonathan’s big passion is helping people achieve their dreams and believes that the only person stopping them from doing this is themselves.  \nAs a speaker\, trainer and coach\, he works with individuals and teams\, sharing strategies for ridding people of limiting beliefs and being the best version of themselves that they can possibly be.  \nJonathan co-wrote the book ‘Leadership the Multiplier Effect’ with Andy Cope and is a regular trainer and coach on the online programme ‘Wellbeing Workout’ that streams on Facebook live each week
