SUMMARY:Active Bystander Taster Session
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this fantastic taster session and learn more about this award winning programme.  In Leicester\, Leicestershire and Rutland\, the LLR Academy have created an award winning\, pro-social cultural movement of change – The Active Bystander Programme. \nIt aims to educate\, inform\, and improve the moral courage of staff and is building a community of like-minded individuals who feel safe and confident to intervene\, speak out and support recipients of inappropriate behaviours. \nActive Bystanders don’t just stand by\, they: \n\nFeel confident to identify harmful behaviours\nFeel confident to intervene to de-escalate situations\nFeel part of a community wanting to effect positive change\nWork together to role model civil and respectful behaviours\nSeek to understand first and act with positive regard for others\n\nActive Bystanders make a difference by de-escalating situations and ‘calling people in’ to create a psychologically safe culture that is inclusive\, and makes change happen conversation by conversation. \nThe full Active Bystanders programme runs over 1 and a half days and is complimented by virtual Action Learning Sets in the months that follow the face-to-face training. \nWe are offering VLN members a 1.5-hour\, online taster session where you can discover more about the programme\, learn more about building the skills that can support you as an active bystander and identify where you might go for further support in your area.   As places are limited book your place now. \nIs there a cost? \nNo\, there is no cost. \nPlease Note: \n\nIf you need any special requirements with regards to accessibility\, either during\, or after the event\, then please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to assist.\nWe will send an email with details of joining instructions for the day to all participants\, prior to the date.\nIn order to participate you may need a webcam and a headset.\nYour computer will need to have the sound function on so you can hear and speak at the webinar.\nYou will need to be connected to the internet for the duration of the webinar.
