SUMMARY:Manage Conflict and Difficult Situations
DESCRIPTION:You are the author of every thought that goes through your mind. You choose what to say and how to act. If it feels like other people control your feelings and that conflict is something that surprises you\, don’t worry: It is all about to become clear. \nWe will look at what motivates you and others\, how you and others cope with conflict and how to establish and maintain positive working relationships. You will also gain insights into how others perceive you. What you learn on this course will be equally useful in your work and private life. Your brain will look for what you are interested in (think of the last time you bought a new car and how many more of the same you noticed afterwards) – your filters were switched on overnight and your brain will store and process the techniques you need to be better at understanding people and conflict. \n\nBy the end of the course you will be able to:\n\n\n\nUnderstand why people are motivated to do the things they do\nLearn what motivates you and others\nSee how you may be perceived by others with differing motivations\nIdentify the key causes of conflict\nExplore methods to build trust and respect with colleagues\nDevelop strategies to deal with conflict before it escalates\nUse a recommended framework for structuring difficult conversations\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat will the course cover\n\n\n\nWelcome and introductions\nThomas-Kilman Conflict MODE Instrument\nFierce Conversations\nEffective Feedback\nAction planning and close\nQ&A\n\nWho can attend \nAnyone who has to deal with or is involved with conflict and wants to identify possible resolution strategies will benefit from this course \nOther information: \nIf you are unable to attend any of the sessions above please register via our Expression of Interest page\, this will help us to understand the demand for our programmes and plan accordingly. You will also be notified when we release new dates for this workshop. \nIf your circumstances change and you can no longer attend\, please email midlands@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk \n.

SUMMARY:Techniques to embed Population Health Management approaches in day-to-day work Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Techniques to embed Population Health Management approaches in day-to-day work \nThe NHS Long-Term Plan and People Plan has called for the integration care system (ICS approach including Primary Care and the evolution of Primary Care Networks (PCN). The ambition is to bring general practices\, dental\, optometry and community pharmacy together to provide coordinated healthcare solutions to the communities they serve. Learning from the challenges of operating within a Covid environment\, the need to develop the leadership capabilities of those within the PCN is a key priority to the delivery of the ICS agenda and tackling health inequalities. Population health management (PHM) is one of NHS England  core strategic aims for Integrated Care Systems; to improve physical and mental health outcomes\, promote wellbeing and reduce health inequalities across an entire population\, with a specific focus on the wider determinants of health (things like housing\, employment\, education). \nThe Coronavirus (COVID-19) response to date has highlighted the pivotal role of PHM\, with Primary\, Social and Secondary Care providers needing to risk stratify and proactively support key population groups with personalised care models. PHM will become increasingly important as systems move to formally establish ICSs and will be pivotal to the way that the new systems will work together to improve the health of their populations. \nObjective of the session \nLearn about the core PHM capabilities – Infrastructure\, Intelligence\, Interventions\, and Incentives – to support maturity in line with the PHM Maturity Matrix\nBehaviour science approach addressing health inequalities and patient and public involvement\nTacking digital poverty\, fuel poverty\, language barriers and health inequalities in access health service \nWho can attend the programme? \nEast of England region; South East region; London region; South West region; and Midlands region secondary (all system workforce)\, Social and Primary Care Networks including GPs\, ICS’s\, Pharmacy\, Optometry and Dental\, Paramedics\, ARRS roles\, community\, and practice nurses; midwives and health visitors; social workers\, family planning or sexual health clinics; out of hours GP services \nDate and Time: \nThis session will run on Zoom\, please scroll to the bottom to book your place on Wednesday 7 June masterclass.
