SUMMARY:Leadership and Change Management Masterclass Series: Understanding Culture and Managing Change
DESCRIPTION:Introducing our informative and engaging Leadership and Change Management masterclass series. This series comprises of five virtual masterclasses with accompanying toolkits. \nRecognising your existing experience and skills as a professional audience\, the purpose of these masterclasses is to provide valuable protected time to provide you with fresh insights and equip you with tools to move your area of responsibility forward in ways that are congruent with local and wider systems\, and which engage and enable your teams. \nEach masterclass will provide an environment to listen and learn about effective practice and different perspectives from subject matter experts and reflect on the application and impact in your leadership.  Importantly\, you will have time and space to shape and plan the changes you want to make locally.  Masterclasses will be interactive\, allowing for questions\, discussion and sharing of ideas and experience. \nThis is the second masterclass in the series and focuses on Understanding Culture and Managing Change.  To quote the author Simon Sinek in his book Start with Why\, “The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas.  The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.”    This masterclass will help you to articulate the culture you want to create in your workplace.  It will also equip you to create an environment which engages and excites your team to implement changes. \nThe masterclass will cover: \n\nExploring leadership influence on workplace culture.\nIntroducing and developing culture design frameworks.\nConsidering the drivers and impacts of transformational change.\nDeveloping the skills needed to lead people through large-scale changes and create cultural change.\nEvaluating the change-readiness of teams.\n\nParticipants will take away a Business Improvement and Change toolkit. \n  \nAlthough the masterclasses are sequenced to develop leadership in the context of change\, they are designed to be independent of one another. You can choose to attend all five masterclasses or pick and mix to your development need.  They are scheduled for the following dates and can be booked on individually via the links: \nMasterclass One: Leading Change Resilient Systems (Friday 25th March; 10:00–12:00) \nMasterclass Three: Generating Accountability through Positive Questioning (Friday 6th May; 10:00-12:00) \nMasterclass Four: Communicating and Influencing whilst Maintaining Relationships Friday 27th May; 10:00-12:00) \nMasterclass Five: Working at Scale with Stakeholders to develop the PCN (Thursday 23rd June; 17:00-19:00) \nWho can attend the programme? \nAll NHS staff from Primary\, Secondary and Social Care \nDate and time: \nThursday 7th April 17:00-19:00 \nThis is a virtual masterclass and delivery will be by Zoom. \nIs there a cost to participants?  \nNo\, the programme is fully funded by Midlands Leadership and Lifelong Learning\, NHS England and NHS Improvement. \nSpecial Requirements:  \nIf you have any special requirements with regards to accessibility either before\, during or after the event\, then please don’t hesitate to contact us at midlands@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk.

SUMMARY:From intention to impact – Supporting the development of inclusive recruitment and nurturing our talent -  Eliminating bias in the recruitment process
DESCRIPTION:Last year systems submitted plans on how they will meet the 6 recruitment high impact actions for diverse appointments.  These submitted plans were reviewed by the regional workforce team and the outcomes of that review was shared through 2 regional engagement workshops with our system and organisational colleagues.  As result of the sessions key themes emerged. \n brap (www.brap.org.uk) is supporting the Midlands NHSEI Equality & Inclusion Team by facilitating four thematic sessions to enable professionals to explore their workforce recruitment practices.  The four themes are: \n\nidentifying talent\,\nadvertising roles\,\neliminating bias in the recruitment process\, and\nsupporting retention and progression.\n\nThese sessions will be an opportunity to review strategies and interventions\, further our understanding of the evidence base\, and think through actions that can be more impactful. \nWe intend to have a final session in September (date to be confirmed nearer the time) to exchange knowledge and learning from the four sessions. \nThe sessions will therefore be run under Chatham House rules\, and participants will be invited to be open and honest so that we can expand our collective expertise. Most importantly we want to be able to move into a space where more informed action can support a more inclusive workforce. \nFurther Dates and times of sessions: \nTuesday\, 24 May 2022 from 1.30pm to 16.30 – Identifying talents  \nMonday\, 6 June 2022  from 9.30am to 12.30 –  Supporting retention and progression \n  \nWho’s this session for?  \n\nSystem Workforce Leads\nHR Colleagues (Recruitment Leads)\nTalent Leads\nEDI Leads\n\nWe would like for each of our systems within the Region to make an active participation and contribution. Therefore\, we encourage attendance at all four sessions from our 11 ICS’s. \n  \nTo book  \nEach session will focus on an aspect of the recruitment process\, as described above\, although there will be some inevitable overlap. \nTo book onto the sessions\, please click on the RSVP section below. \nPlease note that that you will receive joining instructions and a link to the session a few days before each of the events.  Therefore\, we advise you to put a hold in your diaries.
