SUMMARY:Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS and PCN Chairing and Facilitation Training
DESCRIPTION:Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICS and PCN Chairing and Facilitation Training  \nThis workshop is for anyone who sets up and runs online meetings and wants to make them more effective and productive.  This virtual workshop will explore why\, when\, and how to run meetings to cater for an online audience.  It will support people to host their meetings using engaging and inclusive behaviours to achieve the best possible outcomes. \nSpecifically\, the programme aims are to: \n\nTo explore and practise some of the key skills involved in chairing and handling successful\, productive meetings\nTo help individuals feel more confident in chairing meetings\nTo help people work productively together in meetings\nTo agree ground rules to build a good process\nTo create clear contracts with groups and individuals\nTo engage groups to work on tasks effectively\nTo use a range of approaches to organise and shape a group discussion\nTo handle challenge and conflict in groups\nTo produce a plan for an upcoming facilitation session that individuals need to deliver\n\n  \nAttending the Programme  \nThis programme will be delivered virtually using the Zoom platform and the focus will be on creating a learning environment that is engaging\, interactive\, informative\, supportive\, challenging and practical. The programme is led and facilitated by experienced tutors: Clare Sutton and Stuart Whyte from Aspire Development. \n\n\n\nModule\nTheme and Focus of the development\nDuration\n\n\nPre-workshop Development\nPurpose: to provide delegates with the knowledge about how to run effective online meetings and enable reflection on current skills to identify development areas. \nThe pre-course learning will also encourage learners to answer questions and complete self-reflections; these responses will be used across the virtual workshop.\n90 minutes\n\n\nVirtual Workshop\nPurpose: to consolidate the pre-workshop learning and allow group discussion and exercises around the topics. \nThe facilitators will role model several techniques across the workshop to demonstrate how to keep online meetings engaging and interactive. SUMMARY:Building your Networks to support your Career
DESCRIPTION:What is it about? \nBuilding your Networks to support your Career \nResearch indicates that men and women create different networks and use them differently\, so what can you learn from the gendered approaches? In this 75-minute masterclass\, you will be\nencouraged to review your networks\, what works for you and what challenges you face. In addition\, come prepared to examine your answer to the question “what do you do?” and to identify ways to build your networks to support your career. During the online masterclass there will be an opportunity to ‘meet’ your fellow participants\, practise your networking skills and begin to expand your network.\nBy the end of the masterclass participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify who you need in your influential and friendship network\, and why\nAnswer the question “what do you do” – without your job title!\n Why networking is an important part of career progression and the importance of sponsorship (not just mentorship).\n\nGuest Speaker \nWe are delighted to be joined  Kate Atkin is an inspirational speaker\, training consultant and coach.\nWith over 20 years of experience as a facilitator\, Kate has worked with many clients on business\, management and communication issues. A highly skilled listener\, her style is both supportive and challenging. Kate aims to create a relaxed\, confidential learning experience\, providing practical advice that can be implemented quickly. \nHow is it run? \nThis is a 90 minute virtual workshop over Zoom. \nIs there a cost? \nNo\, this has been funded by the Midlands Talent Team and East of England Talent Team.
