Complete Leadership Series – Leading Inclusively and Appreciatively with Cultural Sensitivity
What is it about?
With fear around the complexity, uncertainty, ambiguity and volatility in daily life, compassion for ‘others’ can often be overlooked. Your current leadership skills are being challenged like never before in this changing landscape. The decline of task-based leadership and the rise of the importance of relationship-based leadership along with new challenges of virtual working has created the need for a more networked and inclusive leadership skills.
This workshop is not just for Diversity and Inclusion leaders but for all leaders. It is about what you ‘do’ as a leader and not who you ‘are’ as a leader. Recognizing what ‘others’ mean, seeking to understand difference and bias in all its dimensions and drivers, developing the courage to reach out and engender trust, developing the skills for adaptive styles of communication and messaging are all themes of this workshop.
Through models and exercises, you will learn how to use your values of trust, empathy and sensitivity, to build commonality and connections. It will give you the confidence to use this sense of community to recognise cultural bias and microaggressions in communications which can be barriers to inclusive cultures.
Whether it’s about your colleagues, patients, service-users or carers, you’ll learn, as inclusive leaders, how you can lead by example and develop a culture of appreciation for diversity in the virtual world.
Through insight and appreciation, you will understand the resources around you and develop a personal plan to engage more effectively. This programme is not to teach you about ‘difference’ but to lead with what makes us all unique and stronger together.
